Atlanta Dance Collective Presents: Time + Itinerant and the Opine Film Dance Festival

Time & Itinerant_FINAL-page-001

After Dance Canvas, Atlanta Dance Collective will be hosting their first season of performances at Synchronicity Theatre, March 25-26, 2016.
Our show, entitled Time + Itinerant, boasts choreography from founders Britt Whitmoyer Fishel and Sarah Stokes, as well as guest choreography from Gabriella Dorado(ATL) and Caitlin Dutton(NYC). The works in Time + Itinerant all have a common theme, based on the artists’ interpretation of passing through time and space.

Atlanta Dance Collective’s mission and goal is ultimately to foster new work and serve our community through our practice. The best way we feel we can do this, is to build up Atlanta dance artists and help produce work from voices outside out own. We are not just a dance company, we are a collective. This means that every voice is equal and encouraged. We take pride in being able to offer two guest choreographers opportunities to present work each season. While we open the call up nationally, we especially are interested in our own Atlanta dance community and hope to cultivate support and growth through local collaboration.

Additionally, Atlanta Dance Collective is hosting the 1st Annual Opine Dance Film Festival during it’s season of performances. Friday, March 25th, ODFF will be screening a Student Program, and Saturday, March 26th, ODFF will be screening an adjudicated Professional program, where the audience can vote for a festival favorite.

We believe Screendance and Dance on Film is an incredibly important part of our practice.

Our student program will highlight dance film submissions from High School, College, and University students experimenting in the field. It is so important to understand and witness where our future generation of Screendance makers are creatively, and we are so proud to offer them an outlet to showcase and screen their work.

Our adjudicated professional program is a curated evening of dance films from all over the world. We are honored to be screening work from Stephen Bullen, Christa Boarini, DAMAGEDANCE, Jessica Ray, Mitchell Rose in collaboration with Bebe Miller, Simon Fildes and Goat Media, John T. Williams, Rosie Trump, Sharon Mansur, Esther Baker-Tarpaga, and Shireen Talhouni.

We are keeping ticket prices low, so everyone can enjoy these remarkable films. Each screening is only $5.
