DC Next Summer, Here We Come!

The summer is quickly approaching and we absolutely can’t wait!

Why, you ask?

No, not just for the sun — but for our DC Next Summer Choreographic Intensive!

It’s one of our favorite parts of the summer to work with Metro-Atlanta’s most talented high school & college students. Their excitement and energy always makes for a great atmosphere for learning, creativity, most definitely, FUN! These students work hard for 4 weeks to improve their ballet, modern, and jazz technique. They focus on choreographic skills and create their own pieces. They also participate in workshops for team-building, leadership, event management, auditioning, and building their brand, all to get them ready for a successful dance career! Each year (going on 6 years strong!) we put them to the ultimate test: they must put together their own performance including social media advertising, ticketing, journalism, and more! And they always pull it off!

We’re already gearing up for the Choreographic Intensive with auditions next week at North Springs, North Atlanta, Brookwood, and Pebblebrook high schools. But don’t worry if you don’t attend one of these schools, you can audition at one of the above locations or we’ll schedule an audition with you. And we are beginning our search for 6 enthusiastic interns (ages 18-22) who also benefit from the program and additional opportunities!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll let our past DC Nexters tell you all about their own experiences!
