In support of our fellow arts community and in partnership with the Rialto, this week’s blog is dedicated to the Trey McIntyre Project! Their Farewell Tour premieres this Saturday at the Rialto Theater.
The Trey McIntyre Project is an amazing contemporary ballet company known for their innovative use of non-traditional venues to bring dance to the community. They have performed across the globe in their efforts to engage audiences through the power of art and dance.
As a part of their farewell tour, the company’s final performance highlights its greatest works, like the crowd-pleaser, Mercury Half-Life. This upbeat and energetic piece opens with a tap solo to set the tone –not to mention the musical incorporation of Freddie Mercury and popular Queen songs like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Will Rock You”.
You will also see the company’s latest creation, The Vinegar Works: Four Dances of Moral Instruction. The piece is co-commissioned by the Rialto Center and based on Edward Gorey’s pen and ink illustrations.
You don’t want to miss out on this one night performance!
